Learn about Xeomin injections
Before You Decide
See which upper-face lines Xeomin may improve, how it compares with Botox and Daxxify, and what to expect for results, timing, and cost.
What Xeomin May Improve
Xeomin is a prescription injection that temporarily relaxes selected muscles. When those muscles move less, the skin creases less during expressions such as frowning, raising your eyebrows, or smiling.
For adults, Xeomin is FDA-approved to temporarily improve moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes. It doesn't add volume like filler or erase every line. Jennifer can look at your movement and explain what is realistic.
Plan Around the Expression You Want to Keep
Jennifer doesn't use a fixed injection pattern. During the free consultation, she asks which lines catch your attention and uses a mirror to look with you at how your face moves. She also asks which expression you want to keep.
Your treatment history and the change you want help shape the plan. Jennifer explains how Xeomin may affect movement, where its limits are, and what it costs so you can decide without pressure. You can arrive with questions or take time to consider the information after the visit.
How Xeomin Differs from Botox and Daxxify
Xeomin and Botox Cosmetic have FDA-approved uses for frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet in adults. For both products, the recommended forehead-line plan also includes treatment between the brows. Daxxify’s cosmetic FDA-approved use is for frown lines between the brows. Each product has its own dosing instructions.
Xeomin is made without certain accessory proteins, extra proteins included with some similar injections. That describes its formula; it doesn't mean Xeomin is safer or more effective for everyone. The products use different dose units, so those numbers cannot be compared or converted. Jennifer considers your treatment history and goals when she explains the options.
Results Take Time and Vary by Person
Xeomin can take several days to show a change. The label reports a median start time of two to seven days and typical results lasting up to 12 to 16 weeks. Your timing and results may differ.
For upper-face lines, the label says treatment should not be repeated more often than once every three months. If you have an event coming up or are planning another visit, tell Jennifer. She can discuss timing based on your response to treatment.
Talk Through Safety and Cost Before Deciding
Before treatment, tell Jennifer about your health history, medicines, and previous toxin treatments. Xeomin's label includes a serious warning that toxin effects can spread beyond the injection area. Get immediate medical care if you have trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking after treatment. Bruising at the injection site was also reported in studies of upper-face treatment.
The current Xeomin rate is on the pricing page, and your total depends on the plan Jennifer recommends. Her consultation is free, so you can ask about the estimate and review the risks before deciding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Lines Can Xeomin Improve?
Xeomin is FDA-approved to temporarily improve certain upper-face lines in adults: frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes. It works by temporarily relaxing selected muscles, so the skin creases less during those expressions. Jennifer can assess your movement and discuss what Xeomin may change.
How Is Xeomin Different from Botox or Daxxify?
Xeomin and Botox Cosmetic have FDA-approved uses for frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet in adults. For both products, the recommended forehead-line plan also includes treatment between the brows. Daxxify’s cosmetic FDA-approved use is for frown lines between the brows. Each product has its own dosing instructions, and their units cannot be compared or converted.
When Does Xeomin Start Working, and How Long Does It Last?
Xeomin can take several days to show a change. The label reports a median start time of two to seven days and typical results lasting up to 12 to 16 weeks. Treatment for upper-face lines should be no more often than once every three months. Your timing may differ, so Jennifer can talk through when to schedule.
Will Xeomin Make Me Look Frozen?
How much movement remains depends on the treatment plan and your response. Jennifer asks what you want to soften and what expression you want to keep, then looks at how your face moves. She explains what is realistic and reviews possible risks before you decide. You can tell her what kind of change would feel like too much, but no one can promise an exact result.
How Much Does Xeomin Cost?
The current rate per Xeomin unit is listed on the ABQ Medical Spa pricing page. Units measure how much product is used, and your total depends on the areas treated and the amount Jennifer recommends after assessing your facial movement. A Botox or Daxxify unit count cannot be used to calculate a Xeomin dose. Jennifer can review the estimate with you during the free consultation.
